Plein Air Travels

A Landscape painters dream -- The Marche, Italy

Live the light, air, and colors of the Marche area of Italy for a special treat as a plein air artist.

The photos here were captured in June as the sunflower fields were starting to bloom. Spring or Fall may offer sharper, stronger light for painters to capture the beautiful stone architecture of historical hill towns, farmland, and vineyards.

Food and wine of this region nicely complements the artists' palette. Included here are a few of the great meals shared by us with a special shout out to Chef Giacomo and Sous Chef Izzy who prepared several meals including baccala and potatoe puree on toast, a seafood salad with local Adriatic pink shrimp, and a four-fingured thick Bistecca alla Marche which was my favorite.

If you’re interested in joining a small group (2-4 artists) for a week of painting in this region, contact me here.
